Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Why don't instructors (one on one) use radios / Bluetooth ?

@Weathercam, Myself and ski pal use these all the time last 4-5 years, we keep them clipped on rucksack strap, fed through the water hole main unit in the warmth of the bag and volume turned really low, we only use them when off piste and for line spotting etc keeping in contact when out of line of sight, they work really well and range is excellent.

They gave us radios in Alaska and it was great to have the guide direct you from below onto the best line especially when the terrain was blind from above

I've bought a decent camera cheap from a pawn shop to do this with Mrs Swskier this season. It makes such a difference

You sir, are a brave man wink

We're in a slightly unusual position where she loves practising and drills, and feedback. She complains I don't teach her enough, so a bit of video feedback will help with that as well I think.

I think it was the fact the camera came from a porn shop that interested readers.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'd call that a unique position!
...and an enviable one. Go Ms. SW!
(note to self: try to track these people down when I'm there in March, see if they're legit) Very Happy

We turned up at the recent SIGB Ski test in La Clusaz and guess what there was also to test Toofy Grin

The Cardo Ski headset - so three of us tried it out for the day, and the old acronym two's great but three's a crowd sort of holds true, but we were using it in quite a complex environment at times and that was before we learnt to use all the functionality, like turning the mike & audio off when you don't want to be heard.

Since the Ski test I've now used it a number of times, as you can use it to play music when connected to the app on your phone through the very good JBL speakers.

We've also used it together on the mountain ski-touring and it really was a very good asset.

As for the range, well that is down to line of sight as you can see in the photos below.

More detailed review here.

I'm going to loan it to a ski instructor mate here to see how he gets on with it as he very much like the idea.

And now zoomed in
