Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing from Montgenevre further into the Via Lattea?

Hi all, heading to Monty for NYs week and would like to see if we can get a bit further than Claviere this time. How simple is it to ski further into the Via Lattea? Maybe over to Sestriere/Sauze?? Is it all lift liked or would we need to get buses in parts of it. Is it actually doable in a day if we’re not super fast skiers? Thanks in advance!

It's all linked. No buses required.

It's been a while since I went but previously the only way was via the flat golf course green along Claviere as the cross over at the top of Rocher de L'Aigle was closed due a legal disagreement. It was still doable to get to Sestriere then. Sauze doable for quick skiers.
But I believe the link up top is now open again and has been for a couple of years so makes getting out of France much quicker, easier and fun.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for your reply, the Rocher de l’Aigle was open just fine in March when we last went to Monty. They’ve also replaced it to a super fast gondola which takes only 6 mins now. Good to hear that it’s all lift linked.
