Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Feb 29th-4th March - resort?

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi Guys,

I am planning a solo trip on the above mentioned dates and looking for some resort guidance.

My first concern is whether it will be busy due to school holidays, I really want to avoid crowds if possible.

I am happy leaving the booking late but would like to have my eyes on a few resorts that would be reasonably quiet, but still good snow wise with good food options.

A shortish transfer would be nice also!

Price isn't a huge concern.

My first thought was 3 Valleys with a transfer from Chambery but I am worried this could be busy.

Would be cool to try Switzerland/Austria also if that makes sense.

Steer clear of the major popular resorts, and you'll have a much better chance of somewhere quiet.

I went to Pozza di Fassa one February half term, the local slopes were deserted. It was busier on the Sella Ronda areas, but not unbearably so.

@Astontech, France will be busy - it's half term for group C which includes Paris.

Fasching/Carnevale is 13th Feb 2024, so anywhere in Austria or Italy should be OK Feb 29th-4th Mar! snowHead

Yes, it will be busy and finding somewhere to stay with your odd dates/duration during holiday weeks might be tricky too.

Have you looked at accommodation options available for those dates?

I checked and there are reasonably priced options in Brides les Bains, but if you want something more convenient, the cheapest I could find on a quick search on Booking.com near the lifts was £400+ per night in Courchevel.

Most places only rent Sat-Sat in peak weeks
