Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Transfer in Paris "Charles De Gaulle"

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi Snowheads does anyone have experience of doing a transfer at Charles De Gaulle airport?

Is 100 minutes enough to arrive at Gate 2E and go out on Gate 2F to GVA?

I'm asking for a friend (Messiah)

He is booked from Dublin this saturday 2nd Dec on the 8:55am Air France arriving 11:40am
and out again at 13:00 Air France to GVA

Am I going to have a room to myself on Saturday night? Laughing

Presumably he just walks to the new gate? Depends if the Dublin flight is on time.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

He'll have to clear passport control (Ireland isn't in Schengen) and also clear transit security checking (belts off, laptops and I pads out etc, etc).

If it's all ticketed with AF as a through flight, and a boarding pass for the second sector is issued at check-in in Dublin it should work. If the first flight is delayed then they should put you on the next available service.

I'd be more concerned about hold baggage though. CdG has a bit of a reputation as a black hole for transfer luggage.

Not necessarily. I've transferred at CDG between what sounded like parts of the same terminal and it was a bit of an epic journey, including a bus.

According to the CDG website, the route for transferring between 2E and 2F depends on the gate, as 2E has 2 satellite buildings. One route appears to involve a train Shocked

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

2E to 2F can be a bit of a trek and usually involves a monorail but 100min should be fine. Generally if AF have sold as a two part through ticket, it’s doable.

(We have had issues with schedule changes meaning the AF/ KLM felt our transfer time was going to be too short and they automatically rebooked our 2nd leg. Unfortunately that 2nd flight was 1/day…)

Thanks guys,
Luckily he is only taking hand luggage .. but actually its only 80 minutes.
The flights were all on the one booking.

There is another flight 3 hours later but the Lardy Bus will be on its way by then.

We had to run through it last year, I think we had 70 minutes and it was too short. Way out passport queue non existant, return flight huge and had to push through to get flight

From CdG, I assume, at which point he gets his 250€ compensation under EU law. That way he can aford the taxi.
