Poster: A snowHead

Good morning Snowheads,
My husband and I are off to Flachau on 29th December for the week, this will be our first visit, staying at the Schutzenhof.
We have the challenge again of trying to find a reasonably priced way of getting from Salzburg to the resort (less than 1 hour away). We would very much prefer to get a shared transfer… any suggestions would be very welcome.
Would also love to hear of recommendations whilst we are in resort, for mountain huts, bars, and other things not to be missed… we are experienced skiers.
Thanks so much,
Sara and Aaron

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

That’s amazing thankyou so much!
We are generally keen for the slightly more lively apres, but not as far as a 3am nightclub Both 37 years old now!
Staying just slightly out of town…
Open to any and all suggestions!
New Years Eve events? Do they have fireworks etc?
Thanks so much,
Sara

@sab85, early evening event at the Achterjet, torchlight descent. Fireworks at midnight...chaos. be careful they set them off on in the street and rockets regularly fall over and the rockets fly down the road
Which end of town?
Dampfkessel at the space jet, umbrellas bar or herzelalm at achterjet, hofstadl at starjet for apres
Musistadl for live music from 9pm, cover bands. 3 sets till about 1am

@sab85, Hi Sara, You might want to follow the Ski Amade thread here: https://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=164785&start=80 That's where we try and keep folks up to date with info.
Note my earlier comments on the Road Works on the A10. 29 Dec is a Friday but it could still be a challenge. If you're travelling light I'd really recommend the Bus/Train option to Bischoffsen and get a taxi from there. It isn't difficult, €2 bus from outside the terminal to Salzburg Hbf. Then hop on the train. It will probably save time and money. If you can time it so you get a train to Radstadt then even better. The buses frrom there are free into Flachau/Reitdorf.
Unfortunately there aren't any "Shared Transfer" sites for Ski Amade, but if you try putting your arrival time on the other Forum then maybe you'll get some takers. 8 Seater Minibuses are a flat rate of between €150-180 each way.

@RedandWhiteFlachau, can you clarify what you mean by "Unfortunately there aren't any "Shared Transfer" sites for Ski Amade, but if you try putting your arrival time on the other Forum then maybe you'll get some takers. 8 Seater Minibuses are a flat rate of between €150-180 each way." Neutouristik are doing the usual shared transfers for €60pp return...or do you mean something different?

Thanks for that, I didn't know that one. That's a pretty good option (traffic and road works permitting!). Have you used it?
I'll post it on the other forum? It would still work out cheaper if you could fill a Shuttle Taxi though.

@RedandWhiteFlachau, neutouristik took over Huber, my guests have used them ever since...nothing changed since Huber days. Cheap and reliable. Ony do shared in the winter
I've personally used the old Huber service a number of times
Yes, cheaper if you can fill a shuttle.
