Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

kids ski hire

Hi,

Im just booking ski hire for les arcs 1950. Found that ski republic and precision ski booking system is identical and identical prices....and use the same discount codes....

Just wondering on the kids ski packages, my boys are 6 and 8, this will be their 5th week on snow and they go to a local Torbay dry ski slope so they're fairly confident on skis these days.

On these rental sites they have options for 3 to 6 yr old rental section and then 7 to 12 or so. The 7 to 12 being more expensive, i'm just wondering if its worth spending extra for the 6 yr old,(who will be 7 a month after the trip) to "upgrade" to the 7yr old section or will he basically be put in the same skis whatever and im just spending more for no reason!?

cheers

It's possible the 7 - 12 rental will include better boots - I've found this can make a useful difference for kids who are fairly confident.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Or the cost just reflects the higher cost of bigger boots/skis for older kids

I would go with 3-6, they will probably just kit him out with whatever fits him anyway. You could see the 7-12 kit on the day and if its better just upgrade and pay the extra then and there?
