Well if you read the article it has some less well known ones… La Tzoumaz in February! @LaForet Will be delighted! Are in Sweden. And in March, Serre Che - one for @Weathercam. Champoluc in March - thought you’d enjoy that one?

Cheap, steep, and deep

January is always the best month to go in the Alps. No school holidays, prices low and usually snow everywhere.

Didn't Cervinia suck the big donkey's cock in December last year hence Downhill cancellations etc?

High, exposed, north facing Obergurgl in January? Think I'd prefer to visit Obergurgl in almost any other month than then.

Amusing. Japan was excluded? USA barely gets a mention?
The author mustn’t like skiing powder.

The Dolomites has had some fairly extensive December skiing over the last 20 years, albeit predominantly on man made snow. its shelter from mild south westerly airstreams and its tree lined, rock free slopes has made it a reliable destination for early season ski trips.
Last year the Sella Ronda had 388kms of runs and 162 lifts open by the 7th December, plus other skiing across the Superski area.
The question is what will it be like this December ?
The target date for opening at La Plagne isn’t actually until the 16th December. Zell am see is closed by early April and Mayrhofen closes on the 14th April.

Except of course that in the headline name game of journalism Zell am See includes the Kaprun glacier, and Mayrhofen includes the Hintertux glacier so actually both are pretty good choices for April.

Telegraph is a British rag and I guess a Southern hemisphere jaunt is out of the reach of most Brit skiers?

Just some resorts picked at random.
Few stats or facts to support them.
Exposed, high, Obergurgl in coldest Jan can be like skiing the moon.

Fact in Verbier, March in Verbier brings longer daylight hours and often sunny weather, creating a pleasant skiing experience amidst the still-abundant snow.
