Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Will it be as bad this season as last? I certainly hope not.

We did 9 days there in July but hesitant to return in the winter after seeing pictures of Les Gets last January.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Matt1959, this should be in the Snow & Weather subforum, not The Piste. Could one of the mods move it please?
@afterski, last season had some difficult days (esp. early January) but lots of excellent ones too, including most of the second half of January. Very unlikely to have the same happen again this season.

Could the thread title be more clearly about weather, please, if that what was intended.

@pam w, Hi Pam, it’s about weather, ski runs and conditions, restaurants and shops, transfer tips and anything else that people with an interest in the PDS are interested in…..not sure where that means we should put it it whether it should be titled differently.

We drove over to Morgins this week and the new bubble, replacing the very decrepit La Folleuse triple chair is coming along well. I did wonder if it would be ready for December, but it’s Switzerland so hopefully will be bang on time

Hi everyone,

We normally stay in Les Gets or Morzine when in the PdS for a week or more but we have just booked a bonus weekend in January and would like to base ourselves on the Swiss side for a change.

What is Champery like? And how easy is it to get up the mountain / get back to base (I can't see a home-run on the map)?

Thanks very much.

@kitenski, have started a weather version for PdS in the weather section so this can stay here for more generalist info/chat, maybe?

@Matt1959, great to get this going, but as others have said it works best in the Snow and Weather forum. Thanks to @andy from embsay, for starting it over there snowHead .

@franga, Champery is lovely, obviously a lot quieter than the major resorts on the french-side. Great for getting up the mountain, one big cable-car straight into the action. Yes there is no home-run, it's either download the cable-car or ski down to Grand-Paradis and get the navette. Another big bonus for those it works for is train access from GVA (with a change somewhere).

Can I suggest we let this thread die off now, and move PdS specific chit-chat over to Snow and Weather Embarassed
