Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dolomites Tips for late March

Definitely somewhere you should visit, if only you could visit a bit earlier in the season, like early March.

By the end of March, Spring can be well on its way in the Dolomites. The north-facing high alpine will likely still be good, there are often great conditions as natural snowfall in March/April can be better than Winter as Spring storms pass through, but the sunny slopes and valley runs will probably be suffering. All the more so as we see the climate warming in recent years. The snowmaking is second to none with most runs complete all season from early December until close. They do their best to move snow around and keep the Sella Ronda open until early April (anticipated closing date is April 7th 2024)

So if you really don't mind long sunny lunches, a bit of afternoon slush on the home runs and ice cream weather as the sun goes down and turns the mountains pink, go for it!! Cool

But if you want more guranteed snow conditions, consider a resort with high north-facing slopes in Austria...Ischgl, Lech/Zurs, Solden, Obergurgl, Hintertux, Obertauern...some of these stay open until May/June, so late March is often really good conditions.
