Poster: A snowHead

I'm trying to find somewhere to stay in St Anton for about 4 nights (poss 5) in late Jan/early Feb for 3 adults but cannot find anywhere that's either a) taking bookings of less than a week or b) asking ridiculous amounts of money for the pleasure. I don't think I'm particularly out of touch re prices as have done loads of short breaks over the past 10 years but wondered if anyone knew of any little gems that perhaps I've missed somewhere? Happy to stay a short bus ride out of the town, ie St Jakob, but not too far out ideally. Any ideas gratefully received!

Stayed here a couple of times for long weekends, it's been a few years so not sure what they are charging now. Web site says prices on request. It's super close to the lifts.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If you are happy to stay in St Jakob, I can recommend this place https://www.landhaus-lechthaler.at/
We stayed there for 4 nights during the really busy Feb half term for the UK a few years ago. It was nearly impossible to find anywhere else for 4 nights at that time in St Anton itself. The hotel is good and considerably cheaper than anything similar in STA.

@bumble66, Have a look at Pettneu, just as easy to get to the lifts as St Jakob and there are bars and restaurants in the village (unlike St Jakob). Night buses to St Anton though taxis are not so much between 3, though not sure there is that much to do late evening these days a good few of the bars have shut down. I presume you have been searching the Tourist office website https://www.stantonamarlberg.com/de/home . I think you might struggle for periods less than a week it is best to wait until nearer the time though might be more difficult for 3 adults

Hi @munich_irish, I was just about to say Pettneu as well.
Good Pizza, only one really good bar so everyone in the village is there.
Must go back sometime and fall off the stool again.

@DrLawn, If you mean Friedl's then it seems to have fallen victim to the zombie apocalypse, it was shut last season, maybe someone else will open again in the future, plenty of seasonal business. Bar in Gasthof zur Traube is fine too though not sure how late it stays open (I am safely in bed long before witching hour these days!)

I stayed at https://www.berghaus-maria.at/ last January. Great value and very close to a ski bus stop, so you can get to the slopes really quick. 5-10 mins walk to the Pettneu restaurants.

The Ski Club used to use Haus Elizabeth for the reps - clean, warm and comfortable and a couple of hundred yards up the hill from the main town. They also offer flexible bookings.

Thanks so much to everyone for all the really useful replies - I have now booked an apartment in Pettneu as it fits my criteria perfectly, ie takes bookings for less than 7 nights and doesn't break the bank!
