I'm looking at Canazei for 2024. Some of my group will need to hire skis etc. Do any SnowHeads know which Ski Hire shop Crystal Ski use. I'm thinking I might get a cheaper deal by going direct with the shop.
Or, any recommendations for which shop to use.?
Tanks in advance ...

Funnily enough I have and that was the 1St place I visited, with a nil result, hence the thread. Do you have any more useful information ?

I can't remember who Crystal use – you could email them and ask – but we decided to sort it out ourselves anyway. I'm pretty sure we used Northland. They were fine – no issue swapping out piste skis for fatter ones when it dumped mid week.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

when we went a few years ago they used these guys

However, it was obvious that the Crystal ski "intermediate" were different to the direct hire "intermediate", if we went again I'd go direct as the direct hire stuff was much newer.

I'm sorry I've no direct experience in Canazai.
The last time I rented was a good while back, roughly 20yrs ago, and I traveled with Crystal. I had booked their top level snowboard kit and paid the premium. When I got to the shop the equipment was quite shabby. Over a coffee I chatted to the shop lads and they said that they didn't do different levels of kit, and certainly charged less than I had paid Crystal. Armed with this info I and quite a fe other guests complained and got partial refunds. I grabbed a bottle of wine to thank the shop, and the staff were most grateful. They told me that Crystal were taking roughly 60% commission for block bookings and we were definitely treated as "crystal" customers. If we had walked in off the street and paid their price we would have become 'their' customers and would have been treated as such. Moral of the story - Always go to the shop direct.

@rogg, exactly as i'd imagined it, which is why I buy neither lift passes or ski hire from package companies, not that I use them much. I would buy lift passes if they had deals like their current 2-4-1 but generally just arrange everything myself.

@Scarlet, Currently in 'Chat' ; thanks for the suggestion...
===== edit ====
I shall just put this here for any future enquirers : this is the Hire shop Crystal currently use in Canazei (probably because it is also a Ski School location)
https://www.scuolascicanazei.com/noleggio-sci/
or "Marmolada Ski Hire" Canazei
I think I shall follow the others advice and book direct....
