Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Turin booked for New Year’s Eve.. advice please

Hi there,
I have booked Turin airport for 2 adults and 3 kids 13,11& 7 - all beginners. Thinking Montgenevre and Des Dobles apartments.
Can I have any advice please? Booking all myself so any advice for ski passes, lessons, renting equipment in Montgenèvre near these apartments would be brilliant.
I’ve sent request for transfer from snowcab also.

Thank you!

I can't provide any advice on Montgenevre but I wouldn't go further into renting equipment etc till I'd booked the apartment.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Having visited Montgenevre a couple of times when based in Sestriere, I would say it is a good resort to choose as beginners. A variety of easy and slightly more difficult slopes, and a better snow record than some other resorts in the vicinity.

I agree with @pam w that your next step is to get the apartment. I don't even know whether ski passes and lessons can be bought this far in advance, and their prices aren't likely to change much (though lessons can book up). You would probably only need a local area ski pass rather than the full Milky Way one, but you would probably want it to extend as far as neighbouring Claviere.

I doubt ski pass and lesson prices have been released this far ahead. Check the distance of the apartments to the beginners area.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thank you for the replies! I am booking apartment this evening!
