Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Broken binding replacement

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hubby bought some new skis from Sport Conrad in January. Skied on them for 7 days and in our return this week he noticed one side of toepiece had sheared off. No falls other than a really innocuous one which was probably as a result of the breakage. They've sent a replacement but obviously he's had to take them to a local ski shop to fit the new one. Anything he needs to be wary of? He's left them but feels a bit uncomfortable with the whole thing. Should be just a direct replacement but he's a bit concerned he's been taken for a ride. Not quite sure why as I wasnt there so don't know who he spoke to at Elixir.

@Hells Bells, what bindings? Calling @Spyderjon ...

I had one of a pair of Marker Squire 11s break (the pillar connecting the heel piece to the ski) but replaced and no issues.

I'm fairly sure the shop he's gone to will know what they are doing. I am more peed off with having to pay to get the replacement fitted. I would be sending invoice to Sport Conrad/Salomon.

@Hells Bells, If they're being totally replaced, I think I'd be happy, I presume they're a pretty mass market device??

@Hells Bells, Just send Conrads the receipt for the fitting. I doubt you'll have any issues getting a refund.

Unscrew, dollop some woodglue in there, screw replacement in. Am I missing something?

Only a problem if some reason the new toepiece won't bite in existing holes. Send Conrad the receipt for remount though.

@under a new name, just the broken toepiece is being replaced but yes nothing special about them. He's just narked about not being able to ski on them for most of our holiday and having to use his old Cham.97s.

@Dave of the Marmottes, Nah, the holes will probably need dressing down to get rid of the volcanoes and imperative that it's waterproof glue to stop moisture getting in........
