Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Head Vector Evo 130, 5 or 6 years old, plenty of use. Heels and toes well worn. One buckle hinge broken (bodged a few times but keeps breaking again), stock liners changed for Intuitions a couple of seasons ago.
Worth having them professionally restored or would I be wasting my £££? And if so, recommendations for restorer? Liners & custom footpads were done at Ski Exchange but I'm not sure if they offer full repair service.
Really do like the boots, but nothing lasts forever does it

We’ve always found Ski Exchange to be very helpful so ring them and ask. Sounds to me like you need new boots.

Buckles do break from time to time, usually an easy repair... Ski Exchange sould be able to do it.

It's very difficult to notice degradation over time, but depending on your definition of 'plenty of use' there's a pretty fair chance that the shell will no longer exhibit the same characteristics as it did when new, normally meaning it won't be anything like as stiff as it was. Best thing would be to go to a shop and try a similar boot, then just try to flex as much as you can to see if they're still good. Perhaps even one old and one new on different feet for comparison.

Thanks. I expect they have softened a bit. I'm quite tall and heavy so put quite a lot of force through the boots. The boots have probably had 150 to 200 days use as an estimate.
I did change the stiff setting from 120 to 130 this season but didn't really notice any difference.
