@final patsy, you will as the 3V has a large expanse of skiing at all levels.
The freezing level will just dictate where the best skiing is. Key links will be kept open with an artificial snow as much as possible.
Where are you staying? If staying somewhere low downloading might be necessary/an option.

You can usually ski in rain . How pleasant you find it may affect how long you stay out. Has a tendency to cause slopes to turn very mushy and then refreeze as boilerplate. But altitude is a major factor.

And how good your gear is!
I remember having a miserable morning in the rain in Morzine many years ago, completely wet through. We met back up with the first timers in our group, who'd been in lessons, expecting them to be wet and miserable - but they were dry and happy. Their cheap gear was a lot more waterproof than mine - I just never had been rained on before, so never knew!
I changed my gear after that!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@final patsy, wet chairlift seats are the worst part of skiing in rain IMHO, I'd personally try and use gondolas to get above the snow line and then stay higher if it is actually raining!

You'll need to Register first of course.

But higher can also mean you are in the cloud/fog. Which can be really tricky unless it is a resort you know well!

This season goes from bad to worse.
From green mountains and no snow for months, to pouring with rain.
If you can, cancel it and do a beach holiday instead

Skiing in rain is mind-blowingly horrible.
You get soaked exceptionally quickly, whatever your gear

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@kitenski, yes you are right, though we are unable to cancel, we are still fortunate to be staying in VT.
but if the forecasts are wrong and it p!!SES down everywhere (including VT) instead of snow it could still be grim, and busier because potentially, others have moved to a higher resort.
don't get me wrong, I am really looking forward to going, especially with my daughters and my mate and his boys for the first time with them all since feb 2020.
as said before, i have everything crossed and performing several snow dances

@terrygasson, don't cancel - you'll have a fantastic time! I've been to VT in the first weekend in May and it just chucked it down with snow the whole time!
In fact, I'll go a step further and say that, with the weather forecast this week, you've been lucky enough to pick the best place!
Not sure which forecast you're looking at - but Bergfex is predicting 59cm of snow with the freezing level at resort level all week. And snow-forecast is predicting over 80cm of snow!! The freezing level gets to about 2600m on friday but (as mentioned on the weather thread) it doesn't need to be 0C to snow, so it's still saying 22cm of snow at resort level (2300m) even on Friday.

If you're British then of course you can do this in the rain. You can do anything you want to in the rain - just be old school British about it and it'll be fine and the stories afterwards will be epic. None of this namby pamby modern attitude stuff. Besides you might just find the odd splosh or to below about 1800m - above that it will be mostly fabulous !

It can be ok with the right gear. Snow is soft, slopes are vacant. Go hard for a couple hours and call it good.
