Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Recommendation wanted for April 1st from Stansted

Recommendation wanted for April 1st for a 3 day trip with my teen daughter. Flying from Stansted/Luton. We are both beginners (both been for one week previously) She has ADHD so I am looking for a short transfer and ski in/out to make things easier.
I was thinking of Chamonix (Folie Douce has ski in/out) because we went last time but it is Chamonix last weeks skiing before Easter shut down and am worried that there will be no skiing!
All advice on Chamonix or other recommendations appreciated.

Difficult to decide at the moment - snow cover is really poor in some of the places which are otherwise good for beginners, and the weather between now and then is in the lap of the gods.

You will need lessons, and for 3 days that probably means private lessons.

Booking Chamonix might be a gamble, as you say. I don't know the Folie Douce but anywhere at town level in Chamonix is quite likely NOT to be ski in/ski out at the beginning of April.

Flaine, where there is lots of ski in/out accommodation at higher altitude might be a better bet, and an easy transfer from Geneva. There are probably some Swiss options too.
