When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bent Chetlers 120 but lighter

Hi all,
I wonder if the crowd has some wisdom to share. My daily drivers are 120 mm bent chetlers. I love these skis. They turn very easily and are super playful. Largely I ski trees in BC.
I got some Kastle touring skis but TBH I think I was unwise. They go up the hill well but feels very alien on the way down. If it isn’t soft I’m not touring and these feel too directional / firm snow. The Bent Chetlers are too heavy to keep up with my buddies.
For a touring only, fatish, easy turning (in deep snow, between tight trees) ski does anybody have suggestions?

Bents 100? This is not a pro answer but they must be lighter and probably retain the playfulness.

I also didn’t really get on with Kaestle TX98. DPS Pagoda Tour 112 (or 100) are fabulous if your budget stretches

The BC120s are actually quite light for how wide they are. Maybe light bindings will do the trick. Marker Alpinists are affordable and light.
