Hi,
Off to Tignes staying in Le Lac from 28th Jan for a week. Group of 11 blokes (all 50+ so not too hardcore). Can you recommend any good apres bars in the centre straight after a long days skiing before we head off back to the chalet and collapse?
Many thanks.

For your demographic (same as mine tbh.....) I would head to Lavachet -
La Queue de Cochon and Brasero are both next to the main bus stop and have decent happy hours etc
Buses are super regular esp at apres time so you can get back to chalet easily

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I’m here now. Marmot Arms and Loop Bar. Both have live music. Loop gets a bit more rowdy in my experience.

Depending on how loud you like it the Moose in the Palafour building is also quite lively (and does good burgers, if you really want to crash out after getting home).
You could also try returning down to val Claret - Cocoricos gets very lively and then catch the bus home.
All the above suggestions are equally as valid depending on your definition of apres! @GreenDay, has a way with words about middle aged blokes! But do remember to secure your skies if you come straight off the slopes.

I 2nd the Moose - great fries. Good beers and has a deck outside which overlooks the lake.
Marmot is good too as is the Loop.
None are anything like the bars in Austria, but all pretty good for a post ski pint

@GreenDay, It was the Underground under the Phoenix, but afterthe refurb of the building the rich people decided they didn't want a noisy bar and so the Moose team moved into what was Givre and lots of other iterations on the Gallery about half way to the Embu.

@chocksaway, ah, that makes sense. We used The Underground a lot a few years back.
I know the spot now you have explained it, merci !
p s. Marmot is still too noisy for an old fart like me

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Barsero happy hour is 4-6 €5 a drink, more than just a pint of larger as an option.
La Queue de Cochon is 5-7 and again €5 a drink and a number of options again. (Also worth eating here too)

Loop bar (Happy hour from 4, 3 pint jugs €16) - great Happy Hour burgers too for €9-10.
Terrace of Le Levanna hotel is piste side and has a dj on from 3 most days but no happy hour (€9 a pint). ‘Posh’ apres option

For the centre of 'Lac I would echo what others have said. Marmot Arms and Loop, almost ski to the door. Moose, a slightly longer stroll up the Rue de la Poste.

Getting 11 into Jam Bar would be an achievement- well worth a lunch stop / drink / snack if you can get in. Pasta / panini / bruschetta are great and well priced. A must visit for us every time but not a rowdy apres place for sure.

Also (not apres but a must visit) Corner bar in Val Claret, just by Tufs lift. Great pies / sausage rolls / bacon and sausage baguettes for a brunch / lunch stop.
