Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Transfers and ski hire for Selva Val Gardena

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I’m booked to go to Selva for 3 nights at the end of the month. We are arriving in Innsbruck on Fri 27th and returning via Venice Marco Polo on the Monday.
We are a group of 5-6 and so far the best transfer price I have is about £600 with Sun Transfers (both ways). Does anyone know of a better option?

Also we are staying at the hotel Antares, which I believe is a 5 minute walk from the main lift. There is a ski hire shop right next door but ideally I prefer to book somewhere next to the lift and stash the gear there to allow immediate and long apres- or at least a more lazy start the next morning.

According to Google maps there is a shop called Hire Ski - Snowboard Val Gardena Ohg next to the lift but it doesn’t seem to have a website. Has anyone used this place or can recommend somewhere else next to the Ciampinoi lift?

Thanks

We rented from Ski School 2000 which has a ski depot right next door to the Ciampanoi

Thanks both.
Either look good on first glance. Much appreciated!
I will probably return nearer the trip with requests for lunch and apres tips but I note there is a lot already on here about that

Thanks @DaveD, I have compared it to most of the main stream transfer options and it comes out as the clear winner. I have used them before so know that they are viable as well.
Thank you for taking the time to check.

Suntransfers was the cheapest I could find for a car for March Innsbruck>Selva>Innsbruck @ €457 (actually is a mini van)

A rental is barely cheaper, if at all, by the time the cross border charge and petrol is factored in. I used to rent from Innsbruck for various Austrian resorts but post pandemic taxis are cheaper.

You COULD risk getting a taxi at Innsbruck on the stand: last year my Booking.com booked taxi failed to turn up and I took one off the stand to Obergurgl which was a bit cheaper as they - at least for Austrian resorts - have fixed charges for each resort on a board by the rank.

This is interesting. If we end up being 5 a taxi might be possible but I think we would still require some sort of mini van, especially as one of us is bringing skis?

It would be interesting if there's a way - or if someone knows - what the official board prices are that are posted at Innsbruck airport.

I doubt 5 would fit in a normal taxi...even without skis!

In your case I'm guessing the Selva>Venice part of the fare is the more expensive. I wouldn't have thought €600 for 6 people to be too bad overall
