Hi All I’ve organised cheap trip for me + 2 other newbies to Zakopane. We have a car rental and from what I gather we can rent equipment at the bottom of the places here for about 20 euros a day and ski pass for about 30 euros a day https://tatrysuperski.skiperformance.com
Has anyone been and is does that sound right for rental prices and availability?
The only thing left is organising some lessons; I was wondering if anyone knows anyone there who could teach us? Or are there any ways to find and prebook some lessons online?

@rahilb, Zakopane is a lot of fun, we had a great time sampling a few resorts as total beginners. Prices seem pretty standard. If you're going to be driving from resort to resort then you might want to hire at least boots in town, to save time having to get fitted every time on a new hill?

Make sure you eat sausages with bread and mustard on the mountain, delicious. Wodka cures aches. Enjoy!

Thanks there are many websites on Google but I thought posting here I might get a personal recommendation that is more valuable.

@rahilb, good plan if you can, will just save time!
Your post got me remembering the resorts, and I seem to recall that Bialka Tatrzanska (we went to Kotelnica) was the best for learning - blue runs from the top if you progress that far. You could easily spend a couple of days there across the two villages.
There are also a couple of total learning slopes next to the ski jump in town which could be fun if there's snow!

@rahilb we go there fairly regularly, so feel free to ask away!
The slopes are a bit disjointed, so although you can get a combined pass from TatrySuperSki, it will involve a lot of driving to move around.
In terms of rentals, its hit and miss, you can find some small places that won't have websites and tend to be cheaper, but the downside is you can't pre-book and may have a further walk etc.
As for which slopes to choose, it depends on your level, if you are complete beginners then you could look at https://nosal.pl/en/ as a very cheap option (but if anyone in the group has skiied before they will get very bored within minutes here, it really is only for the first few lessons).

Cool that all sounds sensible tbh, should be fine if you have a car and based on your experience (if conditions are bad watch out a bit at Harenda, it is a very steep section, which can be horribly icy).
You could also consider https://szymoszkowa.pl/ just down the road from Harenda (doesn't make much difference tbh, really whichever you prefer the look of), although there are more restaurants at the top here (we often stop off at the Mercure hotel next door afterwards, but that was largely because it had a playroom...if there are no kids you may prefer to check out some of the bars at the top of the hill instead).
In terms of bars, head over to Krupówki street and take your pick! There are a few local brewers near the bottom such as: https://watrazakopane.pl/ and we've always liked this place: https://www.stekzakopane.pl/ (although for some reason last time we went it just didn't seem as good as in the past).
If you stay on that street (or head towards some of the large hotels such as Belvedere or Aires) then they have plenty of good restaurants and bars (in all honesty I can't remember the names of most of them, we tend to just walk along until we see one that looks like it has space)!!
As you'd expect the hotel bars/restaurants are probably more expensive, but tend to be quieter, more space etc, the bars/restaurants on the main street tend to be louder (not all of course) and cheaper than the hotels, but not as cheap as those away from the main street.

My nephew, who had a Polish mate, spent some time boarding in Poland a few years ago. He enjoyed it, his first visit to Poland, despite massive lacerations to his face when he fell onto what was essentially gravel. He did say it was strange having to pay separately for each lift (like getting on a bus in the olden days) but sounds as if it's more up to date now

Yeah they sorted that out a few years back @pam w, it used to be very annoying, but now they do have an area lift pass, which helps a lot (although it still remains physically very disjointed).
The good thing they do however (which may suit @rahilb) is offer half day or 2 hour lift passes (or even x runs, e.g. x PLN for 10 runs or similar), that won't appeal to everyone, but has helped us in the past when we knew we wouldn't be doing full days.

my wife is from that region of Poland. My daughters 1st learnt to ski there at Nosal aged of 2 and the ski schools are very professional and well run.
We still go to Zakopane but only to ski tour.
Białka will be perfect for you as a beginner. Zakopane is a really nice town you'll love it, the food, shops and culture
