Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Transfer from Munich to Gerlos

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We are booked to go Gerlos in Austria on 11 March. Hotel and flights all booked. For a number of reasons we are flying to Munich.
Are there any shared transfer options available from Munich? We have been quoted 950 euros for 4 of us ( x2 with skis) but just wondering whether there is anything cheaper. Ideally we would prefer a shared (coach) transfer. Non of us are keen on renting and driving.
Thank you in advance

You might get a hire car cheaper?

I would think they could, but as they’ve said they are not keen on renting and driving .

Train to Jenbach then local taxi from there would work out a fair bit cheaper, one change of train needed

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Four Seasons (Taxi Tirol) do shared transfers from Munich to the Zillertal. I’ve always found them reliable but the train would be cheaper, yes. You could get the train(s) to Zell am Ziller station and then get a regional bus from Zell am Ziller station to Gerlos. The regional bus 4094 might work for you, costs €6.70 one way per person. If you download the VVT app all the connections are on there.

@ralphr, You could take the train to Mayrhofen or Zell am Ziller and get a transfer from there but it is a long trip with at least two changes of train (possibly more). Car hire is the obvious answer but you say you are not keen. Any transfer is going to be expensive as it is a fair drive. I doubt there is a bus but look here https://www.muenchen-zob.de/en/countries this is the central bus station (near the Hauptbahnhof get off at Hackerbrücke - same stop as Oktoberfest Very Happy ). Other option might be to look to change your flights into Innsbruck

@ralphr, I think you can get a shared shuttle if you Google it. 250-300 per way.

I did a shared transfer at the start of December (so only 3 weeks ago) with Four Seasons Travel from Munich airport to the Zillertal 198 Euros return.

Thank @VolklAttivaS5 @munich_irish @Matrix and @Alistair_Pink and everyone else for your advice. We have decided to go with Four Seasons- cost of 562 euros which is far more reasonable. Thanks again.
