Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Boot info Atomic ti 9

Have a pair of Atomic TI 9 boots I picked up 2nd hand earlier this year.

Can anyone tell me:

1. what year these came out,
2. the flex (guessing 9 means 90 flex).
3. What level skier they were aimed at,

They may have been around 290 euros from the very little I can find online, website and youtube vid of them I found doesn't offer up much information but that's the correct boot shown there-

Thats an old boot....2010ish I reckon. I think its the beta tech boot so wide, 104mm last so I hope you have a whole lot of foot going on else you'll be swimming around in those! It was superseeded by the Hawx and we're now well into the 2nd generation on Hawx.
At 10 years old plus I'd be starting to worry about the plastics drying out depending on how they've been stored/used.
I used to work in a ski shop and if someone had come in with something this age we simply wouldn't work on it.
Techs moved on, lighter plastics, warmer, dryer liners, different forward lean angles for more modern skis etc etc
Make a nice pair of bookends or plant pots mind you!! Very Happy

@andy n netty, ok ta, learned to ski in 80s on long skinnies and did my Alpine/Rocky ski bum thing 20 years ago so gear/technology is all relative! Point taken on age degradation, figured they were oldish but these seem ok, cheap so no great loss if no good. My skis are old too so hopefully an era match! I do have a broad foot and standard fit boots usually meant getting something too long to accomodate width. I did have Tecnica Ten2s which worked well at 104. I think this winter it's only going to be the odd day at Glencoe or Glenshee so didn't want to spend on kit for that. if I do get abroad I'd rent.

@Klammertime, good luck with those!

I can't tell you anything about them specifically, but given that the primary Atomic boot line has been called Hawx since 2007 (e.g. https://gearjunkie.com/winter/gear-preview-atomic-hawx-110-ski-boot ) I would estimate that those are from the early 2000s at best. Atomic also have a Redster line, but this also predates that.

If they've been stored in the dark all that time and are lightly used, you may just about get away with using them. Or they may disintegrate on your first turn.

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@ousekjarr, your bob on, I think I tested the Hawx 1st generation in 2005/6 but they did run the two ranges alongside each other for a few years. No idea where the times gone lol
