Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Yes, many times. What would you like to know and why there?

By New England standards it's a good ski mountain with good vertical. It is exposed on windy days and can get quite cold mid-winter, weather dependent. It would be good for a three day trip but would be a bit small for a week. It has a decent base village and mountain access road with enough entertainment for about the same three days. If you're planning a week you may want to try a couple of mountains.

I have a ski house in the village of Bethel, Maine, near Sunday River, about 1:45 hours south of Sugarloaf and have been there many times. If you have more specific questions I'd be happy to answer them.

I guess you are right, its self-explanatory.

Pro- Big Hill, great snowmaking, excellent cruising blues. Loads of legitimate steep, bumped up, narrow (by Euro Standards think skiing down one of your mountain roads with hairpin turns, tree, stumps, rocks and small cliff drops). Traditional New England ski trails. Really nice beginner terrain for progressing skiers. Fantastic off piste and backcountry skiing. Huge amount of tree skiing. Bring your skins if you have them. Only place in Eastern US with Cat Skiing. Depending on snow and time of the year, only lift accessible above tree line skiing in East. Has a "village" albeit small one.

Con- Spotty snow history, can be absolutely frigid bone chilling cold. Icy if natural snow is not great. Like I'm not sure if you have ever experienced ice like this is if you ski mainly in Europe. Combine that with the cold and it can be a joy on some days. If snow is not great limited terrain availability. It's a bit remote. Limited nightlife, but a few bars and restaurants. The Rack is a great ski bar owned by a former Olympic Snowboarder.

I love this place. I think it's the best place to ski in eastern US when the snow is good. Spent a few days their last February after a week-long 150 cm dump. Was really really good. If you go and the snow is good, don't miss Saddleback Mountain. 45 mins away. A true old school New England ski hill. Highly recommended. Great terrain.

Just remember this is not Europe. Long runs are not the same length. Snow quality can be iffy., Its freaking cold. Bring a face mask. However, when its good its a great place.
