Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski resort locals object to skiing

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
In the small ski resort of Val D'Allos they decided to try and offer something new this season - skiing... and has raised the hackles of locals.

The Val D'Allos leisure development has installed a 168m long dry slope for use in the summer months, serviced by the existing magic carpet lift to offer more activities for visitors in the summer months. The temporary slope made of recycled material was installed at the beginning of summer and was well received by visitors so its stay is being extended into autumn, with some local ski shops opening to provide hire equipment, but this has not gone unchallenged by the locals, who claim its causing environmental damage and harming the biodiversity of the alpine meadow and are running a petition for its removal.

But you can't help but wonder if the complaints are less about the impact of it and more about that its LUMINOUS GREEN, and offending their view.

Having skiied at Sheffield with snow on the matting I can say it will also make a great base for the nursery slope in winter.

Its strange that the village has a population of 824, yet the opponents claim to have over 1400 signatures.
Does it count if the same person signs it 3 or 4 times?

Some of the comments made me laugh out loud.
The one about it being a disaster for the environment and the pasture should be full of cows.

Famously the number 1 source of agricultural greenhouse gas.
