The Val D'Allos leisure development has installed a 168m long dry slope for use in the summer months, serviced by the existing magic carpet lift to offer more activities for visitors in the summer months. The temporary slope made of recycled material was installed at the beginning of summer and was well received by visitors so its stay is being extended into autumn, with some local ski shops opening to provide hire equipment, but this has not gone unchallenged by the locals, who claim its causing environmental damage and harming the biodiversity of the alpine meadow and are running a petition for its removal.
But you can't help but wonder if the complaints are less about the impact of it and more about that its LUMINOUS GREEN, and offending their view.
