Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Italian accommodation - help!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all - I have flights booked for Jan 2023 to Turin. Have been enjoying researching Italian resorts after sking for last ten years in France I would love to try Italy. However I am really struggling to find suitable accommodation in Italy. We are a family of five (teenage kids) and due to budget need to do self catering. Our experience to date had been CGH type premises in France (Les Arcs, Tignes, Montgenevre) - self catering modern apartments with pool, lounge facilities etc. I can’t find anything like this in Italy. Hotels are too expensive, self catering expensive as well and not to the same standard for the price. I was looking at Cervinia but open to other resorts accessible from Turin. Any help welcome for an Italian novice - please be kind!

@CosmoJo, one of the great advantages of France is the huge variety of self-catering accommodation, at all price points, often very conveniently situated. Nowhere else comes close, but other places have other advantages.

@CosmoJo, I know some Italian hotels also rent out apartments, we've stayed in some in the past, but not close to Turin. I guess if you don't find anything, there is always Montgenevre or pop down to Serre Chevalier.

Something slightly different. A few years back we rented this house for a fortnight. It's in the centre of Pinzolo. Has underground parking. Supermarket on the doorstep. The ski area is linked by Gondola to Madonna Di Campiglio.

VRBO and Airbnb both have lots of apartments. In past we've done la thuile, sauze, sestriere and claviere.

Tbh France I think France is better for sc. You could go to Montgeneve. It’s close to Turin and you can ski over the border to Italy.

There is lots of SC accommodation in Cervinia (also a family of 5), but not with the pool and lounge add-ons. We've successfully done AirBnB in Cervinia.
