Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We flew to Munich on 6th April 2022 and skied at Ellmau for 2 hours that afternoon, en-route to the Zillertal. It was 15C in the valley, so we had a total slush-fest on deserted slopes. Nevertheless, it's always great to ski on arrival day.
We've had mainly sunny weather so far, with snow on the Sat and Sun of the trip (9th and 10th April). We've skied at Hochzillertal, Zillertal Arena and Hintertux and have skied packed powder, slush, mush, slick where the new snow has been scraped off, sticky snow and (hoorah!) some fantastic fresh powder too. In complete contrast, its also been great fun to ski the end of season strips through the meadows down to the likes of Lanersbach.
We skied fresh tracks all day yesterday at Zillertal Arena and found a fair but of untracked powder at Hintertux today. It was -10C at Hintertux summit today and conditions were absolutely fantastic.
All in all, a great trip for the time of year. So much for the perennial 'Will there be snow in April? question
We will manage a few hours' skiing tomorrow, before driving to MUC for the flight home. Haven't decided where to ski yet. Hintertux beckons but it's 45 mins' drive from our digs near Fügen.
