Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi all
Has anyone got any experience of conditions/expectations re Bansko for first week of April? I got back from Morzine a few months ago after not having gone skiing for years and really want to try and get 5 or so days in - travelling Solo with main purpose of doing private lessons (hence Bansko where prices seem cheapest). Thought I would reach out to see what I can expect from those who have been before (appreciate it won’t be up to other European standards but essential whether it’s good value for money and if conditions likely to be good). Any other recommendations of places to take on lessons would be greatly appreciated!

I didn't think lifts operated into April?
I booked with the ski school via BanskoBlog. That ski school kept class sizes to a sensible number. Pirin2000 i think it was did not and one instructor we had a run in with had 20 in her class. Nb this was Feb half term so peak season
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Ski Mania was one we used.... though obviously a few years back
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I was in Bansko, briefly, in mid-February 2022. Massive queues to get onto the gondola up the mountain from the base station.

Just got back from Bansko yesterday, loads of snow there atm, they’re certainly hoping to go into mid April if snow and visitors allow. There was loads of instructors touting for business at the top of the gondola, I was quoted 80 bgn lev per hour (35 quid) by one, not sure what other firms charge
