Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@ElzP, Thank you! Give my regards to the slopes of Pila if you’re up there today. It looked like the sun was finally coming out & the miserable weather clearing when I left this morning.

A quick update. Had a fabulous team on the plane back to Brum on Saturday. They were happy I’d self tested plus had recovery cert from 6 wks earlier so no pod required.

The QE got me straight in & am currently, finally, sat up in a chair. My fracture is stable so no operation advised. It’ll be around 3 months to heel & will be monitored with scans to ensure it’s healing in the right way.

Physio assessments already started & hope to go home by the end of the week - once the hubby tests negative for covid, as everyone except me has gone home & been positive rolling eyes

A final twist in the plot, hubby flew into the baggage chaos at LHR on Sat night so ended up going home without it. He’s just texted to say it’s finally been returned & the washing machine is going full pelt. Result! Very Happy

Damn, have I been rumbled? wink It’s quite funny getting a trail of texts about what & how at the moment.

Sadly, I do have a sit down ironing system at home. What’s the betting he’s got that set up for my return…… rolling eyes

I had a knee op a few weeks ago. Attempting to instruct hubby on how to use the washing machine etc was a little frustrating

@Chuckles3, good to hear you are in sound hands and on the mend. Fingers crossed you will be fit and eager for next year.

At least you did get to ski. Our daughter (she is a medical student) reported last night on a patient in fracture clinic yesterday - had broken their leg tripping down the stairs from the gondola station without even doing a single run.

We men have a hard time with washing machines. I have not been allowed anywhere near ours since an unfortunate incident decades ago when some of my (now) wife's underwear emerged a subtle shade of grey.

OK I was gonna let it go but I can't: I'm a guy, and--just sayin'-- I'll match my laundry skills with anybody's. I just bought new machines, and soon I'll show my wife how to use them. I even rule on the road, check it out

Do you wash them in the bog and then rinse in the bidet like some kind of sanitary twin-tub?! This is next level domestic wizardry. Cool

@Scooter in Seattle, That’s an incredibly impressive display of pant washing. I’ll make sure MrChuckles3 takes note for our next trip away.

@j b, Oh dear, that poor person. At least I had 3 & a bit cracking days first. And thanks, still feeling unsure about next season but there’s plenty of time to consider what to do.

As for washing catastrophes, MrChuckles3 was banned some years ago after deciding to help by tumble drying all my lovely & very expensive bras & knickers. Needless to say, it didn’t turn out well & after paying to replace them all, he never did it again.

@Chuckles3, similar happened to my mum, when we went on the SFaB. We got to the hotel early but the room wasn't ready... had been contemplating getting an extra day lift pass and going out for a ski that day. But as we didnt have access to the room, left baggage in their storage room and went off to get food supplies in. We had gone on ahead with our shopping and our girls leaving my parents arguing over what they wanted to buy. Next thing I know i get a text from Mum saying room was ready but she had hurt her ankle. We went on into our room, next text was a message a friend saying they just saw my mum being loaded into an ambulance.

The was looked packed snow you came out of from shop was hollow underneath and now being mid April, starting to melt gave way under mum creating a deep hole. She broke her ankle in 3 places before even checking in!

It would have been much saver if we had gone off skiing.

The last post from me before I put this one to bed & this whole saga behind me.

I’m home! Got transport back at 8 last night. Just about managed the stairs - so much harder going up than down & sat on the bed with MrChuckles3 drinking red wine & eating peanuts until midnight. Definitely no sleeping tablet or morphine required.

Had the best nights sleep I’ve had in weeks & am looking forward to a restful day upstairs today after an awful lot of physio/physical exertion yesterday.

Have my first review in 4 weeks when I may be allowed to start weight bearing on my injured side so keeping fingers crossed it all goes to plan!

Look after yourselves peeps

@Hurtle, Will do. They’ve now added a fractured sacrum to the pelvis so it makes sense why my ar@e has been so sore since my accident.

I’ve had to relent & so am getting a rental stairlift fitted tomorrow (who knew they were a thing) & wheelchair delivery imminent.

Rubbing salt in to the wounds, keep getting snow forecast updates into my inbox rolling eyes

@DrLawn, Thank you! I’m reserving judgement on next season at the moment. It’s fair to say neither of us are gagging to start planning another trip yet.
