@ajc2260626, Les Saisies is reasonably high but the slopes don't go much higher, and much of the wider domain goes much lower. Wouldn't be my first choice for an April trip.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Nor mine - and I had an apartment there for 15 years and love it to bits! Tignes a much better bet.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@ajc2260626, nearer to where? An airport? The UK via road?

If you only ski the local easy slopes above Les Saises, then fine ( I hope, I'm there end of March). I've accepted that I won't be skiing big vertical down to 1100m in the wider area late season, but you may want more km to go at?

To be honest we will be just pootling around with a 9 and 6 year old, so am just after greens and blues which we can do a couple of hours in the morning, go back to apt for lunch and maybe do some more in the afternoon

@ajc2260626, in that case, Les Saisies could be OK. Certainly for greens and easy blues it's an excellent choice.

Yes, probably fine in that case, and it will have as good snow as anywhere around (including Flaine). There are some good north facing slopes - notably the main ones on Mont Bisanne. The long blue down to Bisanne 1500, the other side, though a lovely run for kids, and very scenic, gets sticky when it's warm - though it gives you the opportunity to sample the new gondola - the only one in the Espace Diamant. Don't be tempted by the long green to Crest Voland, even if it's open - it needs a fair bit of poling/skating at the best of times.
