Poster: A snowHead

Going to try and keep a trip diary going, so here goes...
Day 1 Birmingham Airport.
What a nightmare. Parked at 2.51am, boarded at 5.55am. Just huge queues everywhere, no time to stop, no time for a beer!
Going to have to have a Brewdog for £5 on the plane. Nice plane though - Tui 737-8. Airy, bright and with a surprising amount of legroom for a charter. Next stop Chambery, fingers crossed.

Day 1, transfer bus.
Flight was great. Plane was nice and the crew very welcoming. I asked if the pilots could fill in the kids' logbooks - a they got invited into the cockpit to have them completed in person!
Big queue for border control at Chambery. They checked passport and (nhs) covid QR. Didn't want EU-PLF, or declaration sur l'honneur - it's was even crossed through on the posters. Also weren't interested in 12 year old's qr recovery code even though we offered it (guess because she follows our rules).
Bag claim slightly chaotic - they come on two belts at the same time, including ski and snowboard bags.
On the transfer bus now, in a tunnel..

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Day 3 (time is flying!), day 2 on the snow.
Having a great time!
Arrival was smooth although, with no Crystal reps in town, we had to navigate check in at Le Hameu des Airelles ourselves - and of course we went to the wrong Reception first - there are more than one! Accommodation is good though - very nice, clean room with all required equipment present and correct. It's slightly off-centre to the resort but not too bad; 10 mins walk in ski gear and there is a frequent free bus.
Ski and board hire at Intersport Hameau de L'Obélisque was very efficient. Equipment is in good condition although, in the case of the snowboards, obviously well used. They've been happy to accommodate any changes needed, even 1 of the party changing from boarding to skiing after the first day.
Check in on snow day 1 for the kids' ski lessons with ESI-Apeak was somewhat haphazard and involved approaching individual instructors to ask if our kids were with them. However, after that it's been great and they've come on leaps and bounds in 2 days.
For the adults, so far it's been great! We've only used the southern green and blues so far but, for a 52yr old returning to boarding after a 13 year break, they've been perfect!
Yesterday was a blue sky day but today it's been snowing all day and there have been fresh tracks all over the place!
Ok, that's enough for today's update - more to come! Please ask any questions...
