I have new boots ... Scarpa Maestrale RS
Actually bought them about 18 months ago from EB but not used yet - the Intuition liner has been heat moulded but I wanted to try them out before getting any shell moulding done.
My old boots (Garmont Endorphin) have been blown out around each ankle bone and little toe where I have small tailors bunions.
I also have a set of Zipfit Grand Prix liners which I can get into the Scarpas and are quite comfortable. But less ideal for touring obvs.
Question is whether to go to EB and get the stretches done that I think I might need ... as part of their free fitting service ... or wait until I'm actually skiing in them to see how they feel and get the work done out there.
I'm in Gressoney for the Gnarbug and then maybe Sopib and maybe Chamonix and definitely Samoens. So skiing for maybe 23 days so need to be comfortable.
Appreciate any views please ...
And can anyone recommend any good fitters in Gressoney or nearby ?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Twas thinking that you'd left it a bit late. Most retailers are mad busy at the moment so you might find it hard to get mods done to gear that they didn't supply.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Ah I see ... they are not uncomfortable as they are ... but bitter experience of the last 2 boot changes makes me worried that you cannot tell until you get on snow.
Is it reasonable to just get a stretch done because you think you will need it or have needed it on other boots ?

I'd get as much time in them now as you can. Drop your skis down in front of telly so you can click in the bindings so you're in the right posture and have something to flex/lever then against. Build up your time in them and note any hot spots.

Just if it is helpful. I have had very good service from Extreme Sport in Champoluc this week.
Giant 13 year old cost centre seems to have grown in the 2 weeks since fitted with second hand boots. He also has collapsed arches. The off the shelf foot beds just didn’t work. But I was holding off buying customs and new boots as he will grow out of them in a jiffy. Anyway had to bite the bullet, very well fitted new boots and custom footbed from Extreme. Very competent and capable bootfitter.
Female cost centre also needed some new foot beds this week. Again patient and good service.
This guy know his stuff. And the shop has a lot of touring gear so think they specialise in that. Daughter is in new hybrid boots not her race boots this year as she is starting to tour a bit, and the footbeds she has are too narrow for her new boots.
