Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski hire shop suggestions St Anton

I know prices in general have gone up but over €500 for a family of 4 (2 already with boots) is a big increase over previous years.

can anyone recommend a hire shop in St Anton which doesnt cost the earth ?

Anecdotally, https://www.hervisrent.at/en/filiale/ski/st-anton-am-arlberg/ offers a mid-tier product range at a reasonable price. I have not used them - I don’t hire - and I give Jennewein priority for product purchases.

@melandnick, Arlberg, like Ischgl, is a cartel area so expect all hire shops to uncannily similar

@melandnick, the suggestion that there is little if any competition between the various hire spots in St Anton has been around for a while. I generally use the places at the Nassereinbahn simply because they are convenient. Maybe the Intersport place is slightly cheaper if booked online. You might find Matt Sport in Pettneu is a bit cheaper, you can easily get back and forth on the ski bus if you are staying in St Anton and haven't got a car, a fair amount of faff though.

Mietski.com. Shop is in Pettneu, in front of the (ski)bus stop.
Cheaper the earlier you book.
BTW, 2 friends of mine rented from Hervis in Dorfstrasse 2 weeks ago, entrance level skis. Unwaxed, dull edges for both of them. They changed them after I came with them back to the shop but didn't feel right.
Jennewein and Ski West (close to Rendl) are more expensive but you get better shape skis that will slide better

@drporat, I had forgotten about the Mietski place, opposite the church. Looks like a cost effective option. I prefer staying in Pettneu but a bit of a faff if you are staying in St Anton and dont have a car. Always had decent kit and service from Alber Sport & Inter Sport and the Nassereinbahn but can see not the cheapest.
