Is there somewhere I can check the live / current badge requirements for Crit'air zones, e.g. Grenoble? Since I'll be driving around that area quite a bit later this month.
I think Geneva and Annecy might also have ones I could come into contact with, but haven't checked properly.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Looking more closely, it seems the Grenoble restrictions only apply to commercial vehicles rather than normal cars. Can someone with local knowledge confirm?
@Charliegolf, sorry, what's painless and efficient?

@denfinella, Are you hiring a car from the French or Swiss sides at Geneva?

@Charliegolf, we'll be hiring a car, so hopefullyshouldn't need to purchase a sticker I don't think. Thanks anyway though!
@rjs, Swiss side. Last time we hired, the car had a sticker. But can't remember what category.
If I recall correctly, the rules are tighter when air quality is poorer, which could be the case currently with the persistent high pressure over Europe. Not particularly concerned about it, but aware that it's something I need to look out for once we pick up the car.

@denfinella, If you don't have a sticker then I don't think you can buy one for a rental car as you wouldn't have the registration document.

The pollution level driving down on friday was horrific, it smelt like a sewer and speed limit was down to 110.
So little wind hardly any of the wind turbines were moving

@rjs, ah, thanks, ok.
@robs1, sounds lovely
Hopefully the hire car will have a sticker which conforms to whatever the current restrictions around Grenoble are. If it doesn't, I think there are a few "exempt" roads we can stick to anyway.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Any rental car will conform to current Crit Air etiquette 1. It’s largely older diesels that won’t.
