Hi,
Has anyone managed to get into France using a Randox lateral flow test, their Certifly App and the certificate with QR code generated from it?
The current French govenment rules are: Tests whose results are NOT certified by a laboratory (e.g.: Self-administered tests, provided free of charge by the NHS) are not considered valid for travel
However I cannot get a reply from Club Med, My Travel agent, the French embassy or Randox as to wether the Certifly App's Certificate is certified by a laboratory and acceptable to the airline and France
Please no opinions
Just let me know if you've made it on one of those certificates: generated by an at home test, sending the results to a lab and getting a certificate - Ta

He used C19, but I’m sure that makes no difference.

There is a post somewhere from the French Embassy in London clarifying that the NHS self tests are not valid but those where you email a photograph of your test to a lab and a doctor confirms the result with a certificate and Q code are what is needed.

Air France and Brittany Ferries both recommend Randox.
I’m confident they’re acceptable at time of writing and as such have just today bought a pile of Randox tests for us (2 each of pre-departure LFT for UK-F, same again for F-UK, and day 2 PCR); aiming to cross on tunnel or Dover ferry next Thu (16 Dec) so if they aren’t accepted then I’ll post on here.

Yes, rob@rar, we used C19. Worked fine.
Interesting to see this concern about Lateral Flow tests persists, and re-appearing in threads all over the place.
Tests verified by certified authority fine.
Tests free from NHS not fine.
Simples.

To all , many thanks, and if you are OK or I hope not - have an issue please pop it up here
totally understand why the topic keeps cropping up.
Though as reasonable person would conclude that a Private test with an app or other remote verification and cert was acceptable its not spelled out (only free ones aren't), when there's a trip delayed by a year and a non-refundable chunk of dosh involved if you don't do the 'right' thing you get stopped at the UK airport its a bit of a worry
Could change but so far keeping with the test and App I've bought and not scheduling a clinic test

It's cropping up for us as Crystal clearly say that self administered tests are not suitable (i.e falling in line with UK govt page, not the French info).

@winterhasarrived,
Crystal are probably following the Gov.uk information.
There will be a time lag between it and the French Consulate website. Follow the French Consulate one.
I have posted the link above.

Exactly this. And the gov page just follows what the French amba page USED to say. Can't account for gate agents getting things wrong on occasion but this topic has been discussed many times since the summer with loads of SH making successful trips using these tests (me included, back in summer). And the French page has been amended to make it helpful and clear. Really nothing to worry about!

I plan on flying with these on Saturday. These tests are exactly the same as the NHS ones I've got. The only difference is the app and certificate.

Yes, we used Randox in the Oct holidays in France, no problems

Hmm, but if the rule only came in on the 4th December is travel in the summer or October relevant? (Sorry I don't really know what the rules were then.) I'm sure France will be happy with a certificated self test but at the end of the day I don't have the balls to turn up at the airport with a test that the tour op says is not suitable. Nor am I driving to a clinic for an in person test when I'm pretty sure one isn't needed, so it looks like I'm not going. Thanks everyone.

@winterhasarrived, then if you're prepared not to go why not just turn up with the certificate and chance it?

I've just received an email from Chronomics that seems pretty clear:
"Our antigen tests are suitable for entry into France as they detect the n-protein that is required by France entry requirements."

@Hells Bells,
I ordered Randox LFTs on Sunday for delivery to the north west coast of Scotland. They arrived a day late - everything does here so I had factored that in. I fly Friday morning to France but start the journey tomorrow morning. Just done the LFT and submitted the -ve result. Certificate emailed back in under 5 minutes. I think that's a good omen and I'm going to risk it ...

@hells bells - Fair point, I guess its on top of the other risks - taking primary school and pre-school kids who will be licking everything they can find and each other and actually getting Covid while we are there.
If we don't go now we can reschedule, if we turn up and get sent away I would assume they won't be refunding us. UK Gov site and Crystal need to get with the programme!

not necessarily "simples" as you need to be certain the test you select detects the N protein. this is the crux of many debates on here and it seems less than straightforward to establish which do and which dont. i see it has been stated lower down this thread that chronomics does

Has anyone used a "take a pic" LFT with TUI/Crystal yet? flying Tuesday and just got info from them where they are still stating self administered tests are invalid and you must use a test administered by a clinician. I realise at this point we are certain the tests are valid but if the gate staff are unaware of this we still wont be let on to the plane...

OK, Having spoken to TUI and Crystal they are adamant that they will not accept self administered tests so despite being objectively wrong you still have to jump through their hoops to be allowed on to the plane.

Just about to order mine, but concerned they won't send my day 2 PCR until after we've left? Will they send all my tests at the same time please?

How will they know if they're self-administered though? The certificate you get doesn't say how the test was done. Also annoying seeing as French consulate website no longer says the test can't be self administered, just that it has to be certified by a lab.

Agree, some certs do say self administered though, I think specifically the Randox ones do. I think the ultimate issue is the FCO website haven't bothered to update the info.

Fingers crossed .... Logistically it's a nightmare trying to get us all to an in-person test within 24 hours of flight departure so will be turning up at the airport with all the evidence printed out!!

OK, looks like I'm first then. I'm flying out on the 14th I'm using the klarity remote video testing thing TUI suggest with a Randox test so I will see what happens if I just show them the randox form before I show the other one.

I think everyone except TUI is in agreement about this....
