Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Have to confess I haven’t really dipped my toe on the Bec unless Barry’s Bowl counts cos it’s attached to it. Kind of. wink

Gele is one of my favourite hills anywhere on the planet, it’s just an awesome playground and my house is called Mont Fort so that speaks for itself.

Aigulle du midi is a given. I’m going to chuck in pic du midi in the Pyrenees. When I skied it you could only go with a guide. So many possibilities in every direction, like a mini la grave (probably should throw that in the mix too) but I just wasn’t expecting that kind of skiing there - absolutely amazing. snowHead

Indeed.

I quite like these, but they're a bit harder to get to:

The "Bec des Rosses" shot has a lot of grain - is that scanned film?

@ptex, +2 for Valluga, also Rendlspitz, and Mont Gele. Mont Fort not too shabby either.

Mount Titlis in Engelberg has a lot of excellent off piste skiing on it.

When I tried ski touring I was pretty impressed with the Furka Pass. There is a lot round there. You can skin up from Realp, and stay at the Rotondohütte.

They all look rubbish to me but then I prefer carving up pistes, I suppose they are OK for somebody whose "Piste Technique" is a bit lacking. Toofy Grin

Any - just give me snow!! Laughing

We discovered the off the UK radar Austrian area of Oberperfuss today after arriving at Innsbruck Airport around midday. It's only a15 min drive from the airport - easily beating our previous record of 39 mins' drive from Ljubljana to Krvavec ski area Very Happy

Enjoyed a lovely couple of hours skiing - great to be back in Austria.

The runway at Innsbruck is visible on the photo below.

Yeah Titlis is in the same bracket.

Does a ski mountain have to have a lift to the top?
