Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Taxis from Aigle

Quite a niche question I know but... we are travellling to Villars soon and after looking at private transfer costs (!) will be travelling by train to Aigle. Will be with kids and lots of stuff so we are hoping to take a Taxi from Aigle rather than the bus and a walk to the hotel. Does anyone know if there's a taxi rank with available cars at Aigle or do you need to book?

Hello Soozm, yes there are taxis at Aigle and as an indication, they wanted circa 100 Swiss francs for a single journey to Chatel. That’s about a 30 minute journey.

If travelling on train from Geneva stay on the train to Bex and then mountain train to Villars

Depends on the train times. The train either links with a bus from Aigle ( the quickest route) or occasionally with a train that goes up the mountain from Bex. If you are late then taxis are your only option. There are usually plenty waiting in the rank at the station ( cost around 80 I think)

Was looking to do that - from aigle to Les crosets. Found a taxi firm online who wanted 100CHF ew. Booked by email.

Taxi de Campery - lady called Ginette - ginettereybelle@bluewin.ch was very helpful. Didn't go in the end as kids wouldn't have been able to ski in France.
