Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Stretching a Marker Squire binding (110) to fit a 115 ski?

Is it possible? For a small, light female skier. Can’t find a suitable binding with a 115 brake…

@BobinCH, Just bend them out, its normal practice I think, Jon Coster taught me....

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I thought the squire took the same bindings as the rest of the marker freeride binding line but is marketed with narrower brakes. If that's right you could just fit a wider aftermarket brake.

@BobinCH, I've had to bend most brakes to fit over my various fat skis. The best method is to clamp the brake arm in a vice, before the first main bend from the brake platform, then slide a piece of metal pipe over the plastic grip section right up to the first bend, then apply steady force in one movement to bend it. You don't want to go wiggling it back an forth, otherwise the metal will fatigue.

I'm sure @spyderjon will be along to confirm whether the Squire will fit as standard, as some brake arms are quite generous.

@BobinCH, They'll only need the slightest of tweaks as I've just fitted a pair of the 110mm Royal series brakes to a pair of Whitedot Altum 114's and they fitted without fettling.

As @PowderAdict, says, if they need tweaking then the vice'n'pipe method is the correct method (the pipe could be an old cut-off ski pole). Although for such a little amount you could just trim off a tad from the inside of the plastic feet with a stanley knife.
