Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Knee injury before we go skiing - Advice

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We have a knee injury within our family (child) New injury and are awaiting MRI results which will come 6 days before we go. Child with injury unlikely to be able to ski regardless of results.

How and when do I approach insurance company and are they likely to pay out?

@Flowerbass, What kind of claim are you expecting to make on the insurance?

Cancellation. We are family of 4. 1 child not skiing means 2 out of 4 of us won’t be skiing every day. Plus what is non skiing child meant to do?

Unless the doctor says the child should avoid flying I suspect many insurance companies would say you can still do the trip and there is no need to cancel, particularly for all 4 people. However, it depends what your specific insurance small print says. As for when, I would contact them asap to get the ball rolling - even if that's "no payout" and you can consider other options.

Presumably whatever they would have been doing stuck at home with a knee injury anyway.

This. It's always a good idea to notify an insurance company early on of something which might give rise to a claim. No need to await MRI.
