That's, er, 8 metres. This photo from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration shows a building at the foot of Mount Rainier in Washington State in the winter of 1916-17.
From memory, this region records some of the highest annual snowfall accumulations in the world. A lot of people know that.
