Poster: A snowHead

Have a seam split on pair of favourite (& expensive) Hestras - should be repairable but will need specialist leather repair I suspect.
Any ideas fir repairers in UK ?
TIA

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Not specific recommendation, but try equestrian/tack route as they are similar in skill set with high cost items and obviously working leather materials.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Alpkit have repair stations at some of their stores. They will repair kit of any brand, not just their own, in line with their support for keeping things in use rather than replacing items.
I've been happy with all repair work I've had done with them.

Great suggestions above.
After I bought some Hestras, I discovered they had a dodgy seam. The gloves were sent back to Hestra and repaired under warranty...so if all else fails, sending them back to Hestra for repair might be an option.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I've had reasonable success with some favourite Spyder gloves using carefully cut patches of black Spinnaker Repair Tape (PSP), ironed on.
That was to cover worn-out patches of leather etc rather than a stressed area like a seam, so it may not be appropriate in this case.

I’ve just had some stuff repaired by Anna Chapman, who runs www.mulchandthebrokenthing.com She used to work for Alpkit, but is now independent. I was very happy with her excellent quality work. Don’t know if she does leather repairs but worth asking. I have no connection with her, just discovered her via a recommendation on UKClimbing forum.
