Poster: A snowHead
|
I will be doing a zoom talk for the Eagles Ski Club the UK’s Largest ski touring and mountaineering club.
On the 2nd November 2021
https://www.facebook.com/events/615355076139182
It’s not just for club members it is open to everyone. So if you have an interest in skiing, ski touring etc or the area check it out.
It a destination guide to skiing in my backyard so around Briancon, the Eastern edge of the Ecrins and the Queyras. An over view of the areas, the ski touring for all levels and information about planning a trip.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Is this the area we skied with your guide when your binding blew up - Pelvoux?

@BobinCH, that’s one edge of it. It’s the area behind La Grave and Serre Chevalier to the north and east then Pelvoux (the ski resort) is on the southern edge. Pelvoux (the mountain) is one of the major peaks.
It’s a national park so not really much/any development in there along with big steep peaks. A lot of really steep committing skiing but doesn’t get the hype of Chamonix because no lifts.
I did a hut to hut tour there about 15 years ago (I feel old now) and it was easily the most physically demanding but also the most memorable hut to hut tour I’ve done. And I probably did one of the easier options available

@ecrinscollective, yes we've just been chatting and exchanging pics, she'll be too young to ski tour whereas our new mutt will be ready for short to medium tours the way he's currently going in that he'll be pulling the Mrs and or KenX up
