I wonder if this has caused a few who frequent this site to take a look at their family trees to see if there is any evidence of a link to a country that is underrepresented in winter sports.

The 'Jamaican' guy better hope that the course setter in Beijing has OCD with a great affection for straight lines and symmetry. Otherwise I think we should run a book on how many gates he makes in the first run?
Won't be this week with the HKR but I expect there'll be a 20 minute film on his 'achievement' on Ski Sunday the week before the Olympics.

Fore-run both trainings and races (4 days) but doesn’t say he will actually race.

@DB, Had a look at his FIS page. It still says 'Active' but with a 'NOT ALLOWED' underneath it? Presumably means he can't compete even if he wanted to? Interestingly he is still ranked in the 30's and 40's in his disciplines three seasons after retiring.

Not sure about todays training run, the webcam at the top of the Hahnenkamm is currently snowed over.
The Saturday Downhill has been moved to Sunday as a result of the weather forecast with the Slalom now being on Saturday. Weather now showing only light snowfall on Sunday but heavier still on Saturday. A snowy course and heavy snowfall wont suit Dave Ryding though

She seems to have walked off the hill at the bottom. Very strange looking crash, she seemed to try to brake on the previous gate, then caught an edge on the next one. Something not right. Hopefully she makes a full recovery.
