Got some extended foam grips on a set of poles and one has started sliding. Any offers on the best glue to use for foam bond to alu?
Or do I try to revert to the old mtb trick of hairspray ( not that I have a supply of that )?

Double sided tape, (golf shop) white spirit to lubricate glue, should be sound.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Dave of the Marmottes, mine did the same. I used UHU as I had some. Seems to have worked, 3 seasons later ...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Do you mean rubber tape round the top and bottom of the grips or wrapped round the entirety of the grip, bike hamdlebar style? AIUI the self curing tape basically only sticks to itself?

^ self amalgamating tape stick to itself without glue
the tension holds it onto ski pole (or pipe) without need for glue.
works a treat for ski-poles - do all mine (touring and alpine) like that now.

Sorry - again for clarity - do you mean in place of the foam grip or over it?

I just use bike handlebar glue (e.g. https://winstanleysbikes.co.uk/renthal-grip-glue) but have used self amalgamating tape below the existing (normal length) grips in addition.

self amalgamating tape is best to add extra grip-length below the handle.
useful for traversing when touring, but also makes your poles feel "warmer" on a cold chairlift etc.

not tried it on a ski pole but we used to use hairspray on bike handle bars, gave enough lubrication to get the grip on but then sticks it well

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@Haggis_Trap, but if you already have long foam grips on touring poles? Seems unnecessary …
