Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Need some snowheads collective brains to help out please!

Planning a trip up to Scotland a week Wednesday and struggling to find anywhere that hires kit for Heather (my wife).

I've booked a course via British Backcountry for the Friday and they have skis/skins but we can't use them on the Thursday as they are 200 miles away.

Does anyone know anywhere Yorkshireish that hires touring skis/skins, or even just the skins and some binding adapters???

She has boots and some decent Off Piste skis but they have normal bindings on them and no skins.

Jon @ https://www.thepisteoffice.com/ has sold out, I've seen some bindings on ebay, but for a one off trip I'm not sure I want to commit to buying unless she enjoys it!

Any clever ideas welcome!

Cheers,

Greg

There is the British Back Country Skiing page on Facebook that someone may be able to lend you something.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If you can possibly get ski crampons as well (Harsheizen), the hard morning snow in Scotland might need them.

The name for the adaptors I have is, of course, Trackers. Decades since I used them. A bit heavy and clumsy but would do for the day. She'll have something better for the other days.

Try the FB group as above. Otherwise, just post here with size etc. and someone who lives locally might lend you a pair in exchange for supplies from the local brewery or similar Cool

@kitenski, hopefully you'll get sorted but make sure the bindings are a small length frame binding that'll take an alpine soled boot.
