Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I currently have a double Inguinal hernia. The right side being the worst. I’ve probably had them for over 12 months, but they have become more pronounced, since I lost two stone in weight. The weight loss has been due to eating healthily and exercising, since a heart attack last June. They are also becoming more painful. I sneezed the other night; whilst in bed and had a sudden sharp burning pain, as if it had torn a little more.
I spoke to my GP today over the phone and have a physical appointment with her on Wednesday. I told her that I had a two week skiing holiday booked for the end of January and wanted to get on the waiting list for an op, asap. Her immediate response was, that I almost certainly won’t be able to have an operation done before then.
Having done some research, I came across the British Hernia Centre, based in St Mary’s Hospital London. Assuming the cost isn’t exorbitant, I’m willing to pay to have it done. They favour using a mesh under local anaesthetic. A procedure that apparently takes minutes and you walk out afterwards. They also claim to have a 0% MRSA infection rate. Which is reassuring, given a close friend had a hernia mesh inserted a few years ago in our local hospital; which got infected. He was in a bad way for some weeks and had to have an open wound packed for weeks.
Have any of you good folks had experience of using the Hernia Centre and if so, how did it go?
