Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Foot Injury

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I was sat watching the rain on Thursday and at tea time got up to make the tea and cut cake. As I turned, my unweighted outside right foot caught against a rug edge. As my weight increased, my foot turned in and was accompanied by a graunching noise and pain. I hopped about and a significant swelling developed quite quickly on top of foot. But no severe black/blue bruising that I've had with a bone fracture in the past. Back in 1996 I did fracture a metatarsal and it parted with a very loud explosive crack and foot went black/blue very quickly.
Next morning swelling had all gone and a faint grey bruise discolouration on top of foot. And putting shoe and walking on wasn't too difficult.
So I'm thinking soft tissue damage - ligaments/tendons - and have had a couple of days ice, elevation and rest over weekend. Strapping foot is now more uncomfortable than wearing shoes and I tried ski boot this morning. Which was fine. Since been out in shoes this afternoon for a couple of hours and generally fine with just the odd minor twinge walking on the uneven soft snow. Going to try skiing tomorrow.
Wondered if anyone had a similar injury??

Why? Puzzled

Seems your foot is healing on its own. What good to hear about others "similar" that may not be relevant?
