I prefer the skiing variety. Bought these big boys a couple of seasons back and today seemed a perfect opportunity to give them an outing without tearing chunks out of the base.
Alas the major dumpage caused some logistical issues and my attempt to ram the snow plough’s half cooked work, rather than wait for him to finish didn’t turn out well.
20mins of digging out my beached motor later we were back on track. Kudos to the new Mammut long handle avi shovel which proved most useful on it’s virgin outing!
So by 10:30 we were finally on the Bruson lift and with an afternoon of Zoom calls ahead we needed to get a wriggle on.
First lap was lush. Love this forest in bad weather
Although lesson learnt not to ski between tree stumps
Mask on lift infraction - you are fined your appartment in Verbier and obliged to hand it over to me to "work from home"
Good spot! No Marmottes allowed unfortunately. The pooch would have them for breakfast
Then you can post your own questions or snow reports...

I,m not sure you want your back pack trigger exposed when skiing in the trees?

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee...
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

As a fellow Spoon owner, I can confirm that skiing on Spoons make everything better
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

The side slide on the Spoons is a lot of fun. Not so much if you’re one of the people in the line of fire as braking distances are akin to an aircraft carrier

Ok, I’ll agree the icy pistes aren’t fun on Spoons, but they can be skied rather than ‘survived’, and you really wouldn’t take them out if there wasn’t new snow. The very short 40cm running edge effectively turns them into 190cm Big Feet.
The area where they are a liability if not outright dangerous is hard moguls, as they have almost no tip/tail flex and take whatever direction they fancy
Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Go straight and pray you don’t hit a big one

great shots, loved the slow mo! you have clearly a nice friend stopping to video you rather than just blasting on down
I thought it'd be about tips of the slung, not about a slay on the dopes.

Another 20cm overnight so went back up to V for another few laps. After Bruson yesterday time to let the Spoons loose on the other side. Avi 4 so not much open first thing. Went for a lap of the Clambin forest
The spoons certainly prefer a bit of space to tight trees!
Attelas opened so went for a look at the top. A few pros in the bubble so followed them off the back into the 3 fingers couloir. Buddy went for the top entrance. Bold
I’m taking the chicken route in from the side
Sluff has auto purged at the top but nice and fluffy into the main chute

Now you are just taking the p*ss
I think I prefer my Spoons in tight trees to any of my other skis, as they can be turned in their own length with a twist of the ankles in powder.
You know it makes sense.

I'm wholly blaming your choice of title for my questionable internet history from this point on. Isn't a spoon also a golfing implement? Jolly versatile, when you think about it.
If you keep the media coming, I'll keep clicking...

Agreed. I had to scroll through it all again, just to make sure it stung as much as I thought it did. It did. It's wonderful to get this kind of footage from BobinCH!
