Today we are right where we should be, at home. Last week on the other hand was another matter as should have been in Norway for a week and have flown back yesterday in time for school tomorrow (which isn’t happening either!).

I hate to be a prick and can't say this to my friends because they are all doctors in the UK and stressed to poo-poo. We immigrated to interior BC in 2019.
Should be working and worrying about my parents. Was skiing with the family and loving it.
You only live once, and I wonder how many people will jump ship brittania post Covid / Brexit. Good luck to everyone!

First full day in France, driving motorhome to the Alps for a 2 month trip.

I think, because we never got as far as actually planning, we would have been driving down from Zeebrugge to Tignes. Missed what there was of last season due to injury. Instead I’m on my exercise bike, as I have been for virtually every day for the last 12 months and I guess at the very least 2 more to go.

I would have just finished breakfast and cake baking in a Meribel ski chalet, and be preparing to go out skiing before returning to cook dinner.
Actually, just realised it is Monday - which was to be one of our days off - so I would be skiing the 3 Vallees.

I should have been flying to Geneva from Birmingham for 5 nights in a destination never completely decided.
Most likely candidates were Zermatt, Verbier, Grand Bornand / La Clusaz or Sallanches (as base for Megeve, Les Contamines, Combloux & Saint Gervais)

As I am not a great fan of early January skiing - cold and shorter days. Probably Southern Spain walking with the odd day, to be picked at choice on forecast low wind and wall to wall sun, skiing the Sierra Nevada. Instead I am stuck in cold, grey and damp England. The good news I really noticed today the evenings are beginning to get later.

Unpacking and laundering stuff from an Eclipse observation trip and tour of Argentina/Patagonia. Then re-packing and getting ready to load the van and driving to Tignes for a few weeks.

I'd be quietly wetting myself with excitement as I'd be 3 days away from our annual boys trip to La Plagne. Not feeling overly despondent though, as we rescheduled it to 2022 back in December when things weren't looking too good, and things haven't looked any better since - so there hasn't been a point when I might have had second thoughts on whether we rescheduled too early.
All my focus in now on our family Easter holiday trip - not looking too good at the moment, but fingers crossed...
