Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Thinking about doing a season in Fernie 21/22 Winter if all this BS does one! Anyone who's been there could you help me out please?
How much does accomodation cost?
What's the cost of a season pass.. do local workers get a discount?
What are wages like in hospo, in bars and restaurants etc?
Also been thinking about forking out and going down the instructor route.. if anyone's done that in Fernie please talk to me

It really depends what you want/need. Contact the hostels and ask about long term rates (they are a good choice for a first timer). There are even cheaper options but without being on the ground or having a contact it can be difficult to arrange in advance. If you want your own place just Google prices.

Around 1000cad if you buy early enough and just want fernie. More if you leave it late and/or want full rcr coverage (Kimberley, kicking horse, and nakiska). No discount for local workers. If you work full time for the hill you get a free pass (which will stop working if you quit and you will then have to pay the full lift pass cost which will be significantly more than the early bird pass).

$14.60 per hour is minimum wage. I wouldn't count on more than this as your basic wage, but tips can be good.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Long term at a hostel is a good call. Best for social at the cost of a bit of privacy if you're young enough. Otherwise can be quite a competive market for independent rentals. Hitching from town to the hill is a relatively established set up.
