Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Face protection in Covid times

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
The Swiss consumer magazine K-Tipp just published an article about face protection in Swiss ski resorts.

Paper or cloth masks are required in lifts and queues this season. But what are also allowed are neck tubes/snoods (as in Buffs) that have a filter effect. This saves the bother of putting face masks on and off. Currently there are two such tubes that are readily available in CH:

1. UYN Community Mask Winter
Sold by SportXX, Ochsner Sport, Intersport, Bikester.ch for about Fr. 20.

2. Buff Filter Tube
A tube with a filter installation.
Sold by SportXX, Ochsner Sport and Transa for about Fr. 30. It needs an exchangeable filter as well. A pack of 30 filters costs Fr. 25.

Tip: some resorts sell the tubes at a lower price - in Davos and Flumserberg they cost 15. Fr.

@skinomad, more importantly, if you have a buff over the lower half of your face, are any of the lifties going to check if it's a "filtered" one or not? I suspect not ... ergo ...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The French Ski Federation has an offer to clubs of a filtered buff for 10€ They seem to have got more orders than expected though and deliveries are delayed.

Well they didn't stop the "second wave" did they?

Don't appear to have contributed any measurable protection by the look of infections being recorded.
